Sports Arena Vision Plan 1

Sports Arena Vision Plan

LOCATION:
San Diego, CA

PROJECT:
Midway Village+

SIZE:
48 Acres

SERVICES PROVIDED:
Planning & full service architecture

Imagine a place where strip centers, drive thru restaurants, and giant parking lots are replaced with a new San Diego style community. Energized by San Diego's outdoor lifestyle, health and fitness combines with sports and entertainment to form a locally based experience serving San Diego visitors alike.

Our design vision starts with the framework of public spaces including a 12 acre community park, a network of plazas, mini parks, walkways, and pedestrian oriented streets. A renovated and expanded sports arena and a new 3,500 seat music venue will combine to anchor the entertainment scene, while sharing an “iconic” plaza with a marketplace featuring a collection of shops and restaurants.

From the central plaza a pavilion lined boardwalk will extend across the site along the parks edge, featuring public gathering, sports, and recreational activities.

Designed to be San Diego's version of New York's Highline, this multi-level esplanade will serve as the front door to a series of mixed use villages providing homes for 1,500 residents along with offices, hotel, retail, and restaurant uses.
