The new headquarters for Red Door Interactive looked to create a campus setting with the eclectic gathering of buildings. The goal was to maintain the distinct styles of all 3 buildings:

  • The two-story building to the east was a mid-century retail building that needed to be cleaned up and updated but we wanted to keep the bones the way they were. We are calling this building “the workshop”.
  • The middle building was a metal warehouse that was renovated and kept metal. We are calling this building “the garage”.
  • The building to the west was originally a house converted into office space. We are tried to maintain the residential character of an older structure that has a contemporary office building inside. We are of course calling this building “the house”.

Their new Sherman Heights headquarters needed immediate design attention to prepare for a “post-pandemic workplace”. Attention was directed towards gatherings, indoor-outdoor connectivity and day-to-day work with physical layouts and configurations that afford appropriate safety, security and wellbeing of their employees and clients.
